Approved Amount Will Soon Be Disbursed to Farmers

Punjab Desk: The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has always been farmer-friendly and committed to their welfare. The government is providing compensation to farmers for crop losses caused by natural disasters. These views were expressed by Sardulgarh MLA Mr. Gurpreet Singh Banawali.
MLA Banawali stated that due to recent natural calamities, including heavy rains and hailstorms, crops were severely damaged in several villages of Block Jhunir in the Sardulgarh constituency. The affected villages include Lalianwali, Korwala, Bhamme Khurd, Khiali Chahlanwali, Danewala, Chachohar, Bhamme Kalan, Ramanandi, Jherianwali, and Birewala Jattan.
He further mentioned that after assessing the ground situation and interacting with the farmers of these villages, an appeal was made to Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to provide relief to the affected farmers. Following this, a special crop damage survey (girdawari) was conducted in the affected areas.
MLA Banawali informed that the Punjab Government has approved compensation of ₹3.82 crore for crop losses in these villages. He assured that the compensation amount will be handed over to the farmers soon in the form of cheques.
MLA Gurpreet Singh Banawali emphasized that farmers are the backbone of the nation, and their progress is essential for the country’s development. He reaffirmed his commitment to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the farmers and pledged to continue raising their issues with the government to ensure timely solutions.
