Sports Desk: Gayle, Bravo, and Pollard Reunite for West Indies Champions in WCL 2025 T20 legends Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, and Kieron Pollard are set to reunite for the West Indies Champions in the second edition of the World Championship of Legends (WCL) 2025, to be held in the UK. The trio, who were part of the West Indies’ T20 World Cup-winning squads in 2012 and 2016, will once again don the maroon jersey for the legends tournament.
Gayle, who captained the side in the inaugural edition, will return to lead the team once more. Despite a strong showing last year, the West Indies Champions fell short in the semi-finals, losing to Pakistan. With Bravo and Pollard joining the squad this year, expectations are high for a deeper run in the competition.
“Last year, I promised fans this season would be bigger—and here we are,” said Gayle in a WCL statement. “I’m back as captain, playing alongside my brothers Bravo and Pollard. Expect fireworks—we’re here to win.”
Bravo expressed his enthusiasm about reuniting with Pollard and representing the West Indies again. “It’s great to wear the maroon again and play alongside good friends and legends. Polly and I go way back, and it’s special to be part of this journey together once more,” he said.
Pollard echoed the sentiment, saying, “We’ve played together for years in international and franchise cricket. To represent the West Indies Champions again and compete with legends is something I couldn’t say no to.”
The 2025 WCL will be held across four UK venues—Birmingham, Northampton, Leeds, and Leicester—from July 18 to August 2. West Indies Champions will begin their campaign on July 19 at Edgbaston, facing South Africa Champions.
