Dealers instructed to sell corn seed at fixed price

Under the directions of Deputy Commissioner Barnala Mr. T. Benith IAS, Chief Agriculture Officer Barnala Dr. Jagsir Singh held a meeting with fertilizer, pesticide and seed dealers.
On this occasion, he said that farmers of the district are demanding different types of maize seeds. He reviewed the fertilizers and seeds available in the district. He said that the stock of fertilizers should be cleared from the POS machines so that there is no problem in the supply of fertilizers in the district. The Chief Agriculture Officer asked about the availability of maize seeds. He instructed the dealers that no dealer should sell maize seeds more than the fixed price.
He instructed that no dealer should tag any additional item along with fertilizers. If any dealer tags or sells maize seeds above the prescribed price, then action will be taken against that dealer as per the act.
He said that it should be ensured that a stock board and stock register showing the stock and rates of fertilizers, medicines and seeds be set up and updated daily.
The Chief Agriculture Officer appealed to the farmers to get a firm bill from the shopkeeper while purchasing agricultural inputs like fertilizers, pesticides and seeds. If the farmer faces any problem, the farmer can contact his block agriculture office.
Gokul Prakash Gupta, President of the District Pesticide Association Union, who was present on the occasion, assured that all the dealers in the district would cooperate with the Agriculture Department.
Apart from Sunil Kumar ASII, Yograj, Sandeep Arora, Om Prakash, Harish Kumar and other dealers participated in this meeting.
