District Public Relations Office, Moga “War Against Drugs” Moga Police Launches Intensive ‘CASO’ Operation with 100 Police Personnel Teams

Punjab Desk: Under the guidelines of the Punjab Government, the Punjab Police today carried out a special cordon and search operation (CASO) in Moga as part of its ongoing campaign “War Against Drugs” to curb drug abuse and take action against anti-social elements. The operation was conducted under the direction of SSP Moga, Mr. Ajay Gandhi, and the supervision of Mr. Gurpreet Singh, DSP City Moga, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM in Sub-Division City Moga.
During this operation, nearly 100 police personnel formed multiple teams and carried out searches in hotspot areas of Sub-Division City Moga — including M.P. Basti, Indira Colony, and Sadhan Wali Basti — as part of the CASO operation.
SSP Moga, Mr. Ajay Gandhi, stated that during the checking, the homes and suspected locations of 30 individuals were searched. Questioning of the suspects is currently underway. Additionally, around 19 suspicious vehicles were also inspected.
Mr. Ajay Gandhi appealed to the general public to support the police department in creating a drug-free Punjab. He encouraged citizens to share any information related to drug selling, purchasing, or usage by contacting the Moga Police Control Room at 96568-96568 or the Safe Punjab Helpline at 97791-00200. He assured that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
He emphasized that Moga Police is determined to stop all illegal activities and similar actions will continue against anti-social elements in the future. He praised the efforts of the police personnel involved in this operation and said that such actions reflect the department’s commitment to maintaining peace and law and order. He added that under the Punjab Government’s intensified campaign against drugs and anti-social elements, all possible efforts are being made to eliminate drug abuse.
