Punjab Desk: The central team under the Jal Shakti Abhiyan today held a meeting with various officers of the district including Deputy Commissioner Madam Poonamdeep Kaur and reviewed the progress of the works being done in the district under Jal Jeevan Mission and Jal Shakti Mission. On this occasion, the members of the central team Mr. Rohan Chand Thakur and Mr. Vijay Singh Meena expressed satisfaction over the development works done in Dhilwan Kalan village.
The team said that the process of constructing water works in other villages of the district should be expedited so that clean drinking water is continuously available in rural areas. They also stressed that people should be made aware of collecting and using rainwater and recharging it in the ground so that the groundwater level does not go down further.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Madam Poonamdeep Kaur assured the team that the residents of the district will continue to get clean drinking water under the Jal Jeevan Mission and people will be made aware about water conservation. She said that continuous efforts are being made by the department to strengthen the rainwater conservation and recharge system.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Mr. Sandeep Malhotra, Executive Engineer of Water Health Department Shaminder Singh , SDO Gurjit Singh , Nodal Officer of Jal Shakti Abhiyan along with other officers and employees were present during the meeting.
