Punjab Desk: Punjab Working President and MLA Amansher Singh Sherry Kalsi joined the ‘Drug-Free Yatra’ under the campaign ‘War Against Drugs’ in Ward No. 43, where he addressed an impactful public awareness rally. During the event, he administered an oath to all participants – men, women, youth, and children – to keep the city free from drugs. Present on the occasion were Amrit Kalsi, Chairman Manik Mehta, senior leader Master Tilak Raj, Subhash Mehta, Mrs. Sunita Rani, Ravneesh Mehta, Vijay Mehta, Amit Sodhi, Sandhu Bhatti, and local residents.

While addressing the gathering, MLA Sherry Kalsi said that previous governments had taken no concrete steps to combat drug abuse. However, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched a strategic battle against drugs through a state-wide campaign, and the massive voluntary participation in the ‘Drug-Free Yatras’ is a testament to the public’s willpower. He emphasized that CM Bhagwant Mann has emerged as a true nation-builder by working to free Punjab’s soul from the poison of drugs.

MLA Kalsi added that the Punjab government has been arresting record numbers of drug traffickers, seizing large quantities of narcotics and drug money. Meanwhile, many addicts are enrolling in government-run free de-addiction centers and successfully returning to mainstream life – a positive sign for the future.

He asserted that the Bhagwant Mann government’s war on drugs will continue until the menace is completely eliminated. With public support, this battle is being fought with strict measures. He further mentioned that the government is committed to providing a better environment for future generations, and hence, it is the responsibility of every citizen to unite against drugs and report any drug-related activities to the police or on the WhatsApp number 97791-00200.
