Ayurvedic Medical Officers Dr. Parneet Kaur and Dr. Amita Sharma Honoured on International Yoga Day

Health Desk: As per the directives of the Punjab Government, a Yoga event was organized on June 21 at Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, Dera Baba Nanak in collaboration with the Land Port Authority to mark International Yoga Day. During this program, Dr. Parneet Kaur and Dr. Amita Sharma, Ayurvedic Medical Officers, along with Yoga Instructor Gurjeet Singh from the CM’s Yogashala, were specially honored for their commendable service at the yoga camp, under the supervision of Dr. Pradeep Singh, District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer, Gurdaspur.

As part of the event, a special free medical check-up camp was also set up under the leadership of Dr. Parneet Kaur. In this camp, 287 patients were examined and provided with free Ayurvedic medicines. The camp received widespread appreciation from the local residents.

While honoring Dr. Parneet Kaur, Dr. Amita Sharma, and Yoga expert Gurjeet Singh, Dera Baba Nanak MLA Gurdip Singh Randhawa stated that these officials made a significant contribution to the success of the event through their dedicated services. He praised the Ayurvedic department officers for their competence and commitment to public service.

In her acknowledgment, Dr. Parneet Kaur expressed her gratitude to MLA S. Gurdip Singh Randhawa and SDM Dera Baba Nanak. She said this recognition would motivate her to work with even more dedication and enthusiasm. She emphasized that Ayurveda and Yoga are integral parts of India’s rich cultural heritage and are highly effective and successful systems of treatment. Ayurveda aims to eliminate diseases from their root without any harmful side effects on the human body. She encouraged people to adopt Ayurveda and Yoga for a healthy and disease-free life.

Also present on the occasion were Ayurvedic Department officials Puneet Kumar, Sandeep Singh, Raj Kumar, and Renu Bala, along with other departmental staff.
