Punjab Desk: Under the directions of the Director, Youth Services Department Punjab, an awareness campaign against drugs was conducted in village Sande Hasham. The campaign was led by Davinder Singh, Assistant Director of Youth Services Firozepur, in collaboration with affiliated youth clubs. The program included seminars and street plays (nukkad natak) to educate people about the harmful effects of drugs.
During the event, Davinder Singh shared his views on preventing the increasing crimes caused by drugs and provided detailed information about their negative impact. He also informed about the awareness campaigns being run across various villages in the district by the Youth Services Department, Punjab, to protect the youth of Punjab. He encouraged the youth to join hands with the department and support government initiatives like the “War Against Drugs” campaign. He motivated young people to stay away from drugs and contribute to building a healthy society and achieving success in life.
Kulwinder Singh and Jasveer Kaur from the Health Department shared information about government measures to curb drug use. Dr. Rameshwar Singh Katara expressed concern over the rising trend of drug use among Punjab’s youth and encouraged them to stay away from drugs by following the path of Gurbani (Sikh scriptures). He also advised parents to pay close attention to their children’s company.
The street play team raised awareness among the youth through their performance about the dangers of drug abuse. The program was successfully organized with full cooperation from Varinder Singh, President of Sande Hasham Club, and Ashu Nirala, Secretary. Distinguished guests and youth were honored with mementos and certificates.
Also present on the occasion were Taranjeet Kaur, Sarpanch Baljeet Kaur, Harbans Singh, Karnail Singh, Sinder Singh, Balkar Singh, Roop Singh, Karn Matharoo, Preet Matharoo, Amrint Matharoo, Mukhtiar Singh, Manginder Singh, Karam Singh, Gurdeep Singh, along with members of the village panchayat and the Youth Services Club.
