Health Desk: Under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Fazilka, Dr. Raj Kumar, District Epidemiologist Dr. Sunita Kamboj, Senior Medical Officer of CHC Dabba Wala Kalan, Dr. Pankaj Chauhan, and SI Vijay Kumar Nagpal, an awareness camp was organized in village Dhani Burj Wali, which falls under the Sub Center Jhok Dipulana. The purpose of the camp was to educate MGNREGA workers about the prevention of malaria fever.

Detailed information was provided on the symptoms and treatment of malaria. During the session, Health Worker Inderjit Singh addressed the attendees and explained that any fever could potentially be malaria. He emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness around homes and ensuring no stagnant water is left to collect, as it serves as a breeding ground for mosquitoes. He advised that extra junk stored at home, especially during the rainy season, should be moved under cover, and no waste material should be left in open courtyards.

Water storage containers should always be kept covered and cleaned at least once a week. To prevent malaria, he recommended pouring burnt engine oil in stagnant water, using mosquito nets while sleeping at night, and wearing full-sleeved clothing. He explained that symptoms of malaria include shivering, high fever, headache, anxiety, vomiting, and sweating when the fever subsides. In case of fever, patients should take paracetamol tablets and apply cold water compresses to the forehead.

He also highlighted that malaria testing and treatment are provided free of cost at government health institutions.

On this occasion, ANM Veena Rani, ASHA worker Jailan Bai, Sarpanch Baljit Singh, Jasvir Singh, Surjit Singh, Gurbakhsh Singh, and local villagers were present.
