The teams of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Punjab, District Moga under the guidance of Dr. Karanjit Singh Gill, Chief Agriculture Officer, Moga, are visiting the fields of farmers and inspecting the crops. The district level team visited the villages of Block Moga-2 today, during which Dr. Gill said that the condition of the crops is very good and no disease or insect attack has been seen so far. Therefore, the farmers should refrain from doing any kind of spraying and keep inspecting their crops continuously. At present, there is intermittent rainfall in the district and this rain will prove beneficial for agriculture because the crops need water at this time.
He said that 10.2 mm rainfall has been recorded at the district headquarters today. The teams also visited the mulching and direct sowing fields. The crop condition was very good in these fields too. Due to strong winds, there are very few chances of wheat crop falling in mulching and direct sowing fields. Therefore, farmers need to adopt such latest technologies.
On this occasion, Dr. Balwinder Singh Lakhewali Project Director ATMA, Dr. Manmohan Singh Agriculture Development Officer, Dr. Lucky Singh Agriculture Deputy Inspector, Harpreet Arora Agriculture Deputy Inspector, Dilshad Singh ATM and Lovepreet Singh Beldar were present.
