Punjab Desk: As per the directions of Civil Surgeon Faridkot Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kakkar and under the able leadership of District Epidemiologist Dr. Himanshu Gupta, continuing the anti-dengue activities, 18 teams of health department employees formed in different areas of Kotkapura city and checked larvae in about 600 houses , dengue awareness and spraying operations were carried out.
Giving information in this regard, the Civil Surgeon Dr. Chandra Shekhar Kakkar said that the officers and employees of the Health Department have also formed teams to check these activities in different areas and the general public is being made aware about dengue. He said that the Health Department Faridkot is making every possible effort to protect the residents of the district from the outbreak of dengue. He appealed to the general public to cooperate with the teams of the Health Department when they come to their homes . He said that the teams of the department are conducting a special campaign and checking the places where mosquitoes breed by going to focal points , settlements , houses , shops and government and private schools and spraying medicine through breeding cankers.
District Epidemiologist Dr. Himanshu Gupta said that dengue is spread by the bite of the Aedes mosquito. This mosquito breeds in clean, standing water sources and bites during the day.
He said that high fever , headache , muscle pain , rashes on the skin , pain behind the eyes , bleeding from the gums and nose, etc. are its symptoms . So, to prevent dengue, along with cleaning the surroundings, make sure to clean the coolers-fridges and pots , standing water in trays every week . Do not keep water tanks-broken pots and drums and tires placed on the roofs in the open so that water does not accumulate. Wear clothes that cover the body , use mosquito nets , mosquito repellent creams-oils, etc. while sleeping. In case of fever, immediately go to the nearest health center and get a medical examination. In case of dengue, drink plenty of water , fluids , and rest. Dengue fever testing and treatment is free in government hospitals.
