MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy Appeals to Youth to Stay Away from Drugs

Punjab Desk: Under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is actively running the “War Against Drugs” campaign. As part of this initiative, special awareness programs were organized in villages Meenian Wali, Kathgarh, and Chak Vairokey in the Jalalabad assembly constituency.
MLA Shri Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy attended the events as the chief guest.
Addressing the gatherings, the MLA emphasized that drug addiction is destroying Punjab’s youth, and the state government is making continuous efforts to eradicate this menace from its roots. He stated that the anti-drug war led by CM Bhagwant Mann is not limited to government departments alone, but requires the active participation of every citizen.
MLA Goldy also provided details about:
Ongoing crackdowns against drug trafficking
Free treatment and counseling facilities for addicts
Awareness drives in schools and villages
Establishment of new rehabilitation centers
He urged the youth to channel their energy toward the development of the state instead of falling into addiction.
He added that if all sections of society come together and work unitedly, making Punjab drug-free is absolutely possible. He also informed that the government is conducting such village-level awareness events to directly connect with the people and involve them in this noble mission.
During the events, representatives from the Health Department, Police, and Local Administration educated attendees about the harmful effects of drugs, available treatment facilities, and new schemes launched by the government.
The programs witnessed enthusiastic participation from local youth, elders, panchayat members, teachers, and students. Sukhman Singh Sandhu was also present at the occasion.
